Characterized by a strong relationship between the art world and aesthetic research, Luca Micco, eclectic italian artist, established DEMIUR brand giving life to revolutionary vision of authentic artisanal and local streetwear.
After many important collaborations as external designer and pruduct manager for hih-end selected brands and some of the best italian manufactures company, Luca Micco decided to combine his technical knowledges and fabric research with unconventional vision of high-end streetwear.
THE DEMIURG
LUCA MICCO
Luca was born in Moncalvo, Italy’s smallest city, located in the heart of Monferrato. It’s located in the northern Italian region of Piemonte, a UNESCO heritage site. Luca always had an intense passion for fashion; he started by creating and transforming his own t-shirts, denim and sweatshirts. Transformation, fusion and cross contamination are a distinctive mark of Luca’s creative process. He graduated in Public Relations and Advertising at IULM University.
During his Milanese period, Luca met the artist Clelia Cortemiglia, well known for her work with pure gold on canvas. This lucky meeting leads Luca to imagine that he could recreate Clelia’s working technique on fabrics. Luca’s insight was brilliant because this test led him to invent and patent the propriety method of printing 24 kt gold and other precious metals permanently onto fabrics. In 2011 Luca created his first brand: HORO, based on his patented method.
ART BECOMES STYLE
In 2012 he presented his first collection at TRANOI, the Paris trade show for emerging luxury brands. This led Luca to work with some of the most prestigious international fashion stores and luxury departments such as Eclaireur in Paris, Liberty in London, Cascella in Porto Cervo, Blue in Capri, Cashmere & Silk in Moscow, the exclusive Giò Moretti and La Rinascente in Milan, as well as Fiftyfive in Seoul, Leone in Vancouver, Twist in Hong Kong, Blue Salon in Doha and La Fayette in Dubai. In 2013 his brand was one of Italy’s Unicredit and Confindustria’s best start-ups of the year. From the beginning, Luca’s designs have attracted much acclaim and interest. His work was almost known worldwide, also thanks to some famous collaborations such as the 24Kt gold t-shirt made for LA Lakers, the Diesel Black Gold t-shirt commissioned by Renzo Rosso and the limited-edition polo shirt ICON 85 to celebrate Pininfarina 85 years. In July 2017, after developing and positioning HORO in approximately 50 top worldwide stores, Luca sold the brand within Italy. He founded his consultancy firm, specialized in high-level collections, establishing collaboration with Made in Italy luxury manufacturing companies including as a creative director and product developer. In just a few years, Luca has accumulated a lot of experience and managed to take his artistic flair around the world.
In 2021, he founded and launched his new brand: DEMIUR. In this new journey Luca combines all his knowledge of natural yarns -cashmere especially- with his experiments and techniques of artistic painting on knitwear.
THE PROCESS
Demiur is proud to collaborates with authentic myths of artisanal italian excellence, located around asmall limited area of 100km from Demiur base. Through the cooperation with these special partners DEMIUR transforms each garment into authentic piece of Italian art.
VINTAGE SOUL
From the gatering of vintage furniture discovered by travelling, Luca realized the Tapestry organic cotton fabric, reinventing the old fil coupè kntitting technique that confers to sweatshirts, tracksuits the feeling of soft touch and characteristic aspect of old worn out rugs.
